Why More Couples Are Choosing Engagement Rings Together

Why More Couples Are Choosing Engagement Rings Together

Buying an engagement ring can feel daunting, even when your partner has been dropping plenty of hints along the way. Many of our clients visit us with engagement ring inspiration images, Pinterest boards, or even family members to help guide the final decision, which we absolutely love. But if choosing the perfect engagement ring still feels like too much of a gamble, you’re not alone. More and more couples are now choosing to wait until after the proposal to visit us and design a bespoke engagement ring together, creating a piece that feels truly personal and perfect for their forever.

There are many reasons why couples choose to design an engagement ring together.  Whether it’s balancing other life commitments, managing busy schedules, or simply not finding the exact ring they’ve been searching for. Creating a bespoke engagement ring together allows you to design something truly personal, meaningful, and perfectly suited to your style. Whenever the time feels right, at The Diamond Setter we are here to help guide you through every step of the engagement ring journey.

A lovely example of this is one of our recent jewellery clients, Jo. Jo visited us with her fiancé Ben after struggling to find an engagement ring design she truly loved. She also had several sentimental jewellery pieces she hoped to incorporate into her ring, but none of the ready-made designs she had seen felt like they would do those pieces justice.

Like many of our clients, Jo had lots of beautiful engagement ring ideas spinning around in her head, and that’s where our bespoke jewellery design process really helps. My role is to take those inspiration images, ideas, and meaningful details and bring them together on paper, helping narrow down the styles, settings, and features that matter most.

With so much engagement ring inspiration online, it can often feel overwhelming trying to pinpoint the perfect design. That’s why choosing a bespoke engagement ring and working with an experienced jeweller can make all the difference. Helping guide your ideas into a piece of jewellery that feels personal, timeless, and completely unique to you.

Following some initial engagement ring design sketches and refinements, I was thrilled that we were able to create Jo’s perfect engagement ring. One of the most special details was being able to incorporate her grandmother’s sentimental gold into the new band, adding even more meaning to the final piece. It truly highlighted the beauty of bespoke jewellery. Creating an engagement ring that not only feels completely personal, but also carries memories and family history into the next chapter of their story.
