French Set Tapered Baguette and Round Diamond Band, 0.375ct, 18ct Gold or Platinum

Eighteen diamonds run across the top of this band, twelve round full cuts at 1.7mm and six tapered baguettes at 3mm by 1.5mm by 1mm, coming to approximately 0.375ct in total.

French set means the metal is cut away beneath and between the stones, so each diamond sits in an open V shaped setting rather than a solid wall of metal. Less metal shows from the side and more light reaches the stones from underneath.

A tapered baguette is a rectangular step cut that narrows at one end. That taper is what lets it sit tight against the round stones either side with no gap, and it is also why the two shapes can alternate without the row looking uneven.

The narrow end meets the curve of the round stone, the wide end meets the next one.

The diamonds are graded G for colour and VS for clarity, meaning they read as white to the eye and any inclusions need magnification to see. We are happy to confirm the origin of the diamonds in this ring, whether natural or lab grown, before you buy, so please just ask.

The band measures 2.1mm across the top and 2.17mm at the base, so it holds an almost even width all the way round rather than tapering. That makes it comfortable stacked with other rings and gives the French set sides a consistent profile.

Choose 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, 18ct rose gold or platinum. Gold pieces are hallmarked at the London Assay Office, which independently verifies the metal content.

Made by hand in our own workshop at The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, so we can size it for you and look after it in future rather than sending it away.
