Acrux Diamond Ring Guard, 14 Diamonds, 0.25ct, 18ct Gold or Platinum

A ring guard is a band designed to be worn with an engagement ring rather than on its own. Acrux is shaped to sit against a solitaire, so the two rings meet without the gap you get when a straight band comes up against a raised centre stone.

Fourteen natural round white diamonds are set across it, each 1.70mm, coming to approximately 0.25ct in total.

What separates this guard from the others in the range is that every stone is the same size. Our other guards graduate their diamonds, using several sizes so the stones build towards the centre and frame the solitaire.

Acrux does the opposite. Fourteen matched stones give an even, regular line with no focal point, which lets the engagement ring do all the work rather than competing with it. If you have a solitaire you want framed quietly, this is the one.

Matched stones also ask more of the setter, because any variation in spacing shows immediately when every diamond is identical and there is nothing to disguise it.

The diamonds are graded G for colour and VS for clarity, meaning they read as white to the eye and any inclusions need magnification to see.

Each is claw set, held by small metal prongs at its edges, which leaves the sides open so light reaches them from more directions.

The shank measures 7mm at the base.

Choose 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, 18ct rose gold or platinum, hallmarked so the metal content is independently verified.
