Rubellite Cabochon Cocktail Ring, 8.9ct, 9ct White Gold
- Description
A single 8.9ct rubellite fills the top of this ring, measuring 11.2mm across. It is cut as a cabochon rather than faceted, which means it has a smooth polished dome instead of cut faces.
A cabochon shows the depth of colour in a stone rather than sparkle, and the rounded top sits comfortably against the finger and catches less on clothing than a pointed cut.
At this size it is a cocktail ring, meaning a ring worn for its scale and colour rather than as an everyday band.
The stone is held in 9ct white gold, which is hallmarked so the metal content is independently verified.
