Alshain Diamond Cluster Ring Guard, 32 Diamonds, 18ct Gold or Platinum

A ring guard is a band designed to be worn with an engagement ring rather than on its own. Alshain is shaped to sit against a solitaire, so the two rings meet without the gap you get when a straight band meets a raised centre stone.

Thirty two natural round white diamonds are clustered across it, fourteen at 1mm and eighteen at 1.2mm, coming to approximately 0.20ct in total.

Using two sizes rather than one is what makes this read as a cluster rather than a row. The slightly larger stones sit among the smaller ones so the light breaks up unevenly across the surface, which is closer to how a pavé or scattered setting looks than a neat line.

It gives the guard a softer, less formal feel than a single row of matched stones.

The diamonds are graded G for colour and VS for clarity, meaning they read as white to the eye and any inclusions need magnification to see.

Each is claw set, held by small metal prongs at its edges, which leaves the sides open so light reaches them from more directions.

The shank measures 7mm at the base, which is substantial and gives the cluster room to spread.

Choose 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, 18ct rose gold or platinum, hallmarked so the metal content is independently verified.

Made by hand in our own workshop at The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Because a guard has to fit the ring it will sit with as well as the finger, it is worth bringing your engagement ring in so we can check the two work together, and we can adjust it for you if needed.
