Oval Diamond Halo Engagement Ring, Natural Centre Stone, 18ct Gold or Platinum

A natural oval cut diamond sits at the centre of this ring, in a setting sized for an 8mm by 6mm stone, surrounded by a halo of sixteen white diamonds.

A halo is a ring of small stones encircling the centre diamond. It makes the centre stone look larger by extending the area of brightness around it, and it adds sparkle close in so the whole head of the ring catches light rather than just the middle.

The halo here uses three different stone sizes: four at 2.25mm, eight at 1.40mm and four at 1.10mm.

That is not decoration for its own sake. An oval is not a circle, so the curve is tight at the two ends and much gentler along the sides. Stones of a single size would either leave gaps at the ends or crowd along the sides.

Grading the sizes lets the halo follow the outline evenly all the way round, which is why the frame sits neatly against the centre stone rather than looking approximate.

Each stone is claw set, held by small metal prongs at its edges, which leaves the sides open so light reaches them from more directions.

We are happy to confirm the origin of the halo diamonds, whether natural or lab grown, before you buy, so please just ask.

Choose 18ct yellow gold, 18ct white gold, 18ct rose gold or platinum, hallmarked so the metal content is independently verified.

Each ring is made to order in our own workshop at The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, and takes two to three weeks. That also means we can size it for you and look after it in future rather than sending it away.
