2.21ct Oval Lab Grown Diamond Trilogy Ring, IGI Certified, 9ct Yellow Gold

A 2.21ct oval cut lab grown diamond sits at the centre of this trilogy ring, graded D for colour and SI1 for clarity and certified by IGI.

D is the highest colour grade a diamond can be given, meaning it is completely colourless. SI1 means there are inclusions visible under magnification, though at this size and grade they are not usually apparent to the eye.

IGI certification means the stone has been independently assessed and comes with a report confirming those grades, so you are not relying on our word for it.

Either side sits a 0.50ct half moon diamond, graded F for colour and VS for clarity, bringing the total to 3.21ct.

A half moon is cut with one straight edge and one curved, which is why it sits flush against the oval centre stone with no gap between them. That straight edge is the whole reason this cut is used in a trilogy: it lets the three stones meet cleanly and read as one continuous line rather than three separate diamonds.

Trilogy means three stones set together, with the centre stone larger than the two either side.

The band is 9ct yellow gold, hallmarked so the metal content is independently verified. Yellow gold behind a colourless stone gives a warmer overall tone than white metal would, which is worth knowing if you are choosing between them.

This ring works as an engagement ring or as a dress ring for someone who wants scale.

It is made and set by hand in our own workshop at The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, which means we can size it for you and look after it in future rather than sending it away.
