Engagement rings are one of the most personal and intimate pieces of jewellery a person can be gifted. For many people, what we often imagine when we think of an engagement ring – dazzling diamonds, delicate bands, and elegant settings – is a dream come true.
But what if your dream engagement ring looks a little different? What if you prefer a chunky band, a uniquely shaped diamond, or perhaps not a diamond at all? What then?
If you're going to wear this piece of jewellery for the rest of your life, surely it should reflect your personal style and taste. After all, an engagement ring is far more than a symbol of commitment; it's a piece you'll wear every day, so it should feel as unique as the person wearing it.
These were the exact questions our client Jake found himself asking when it came time to create the engagement ring of Chelsea's dreams. He knew he wanted to design something truly special and unique, a ring that captured her personality and reflected everything that made her who she is.
Chelsea has a love for fantasy novels and the all-consuming, ethereal worlds they transport you to. Jake wanted to create a bespoke engagement ring that embodied that sense of magic, wonder, and escapism, resulting in a piece that was every bit as unique as the woman who would wear it.
He came to us with a very clear vision and design concept; he simply needed the help of an expert to bring it all together. That's exactly what we did.
I initially sat down with Jake to discuss his ideas in detail, taking extensive notes to fully understand his vision and requirements for the ring. I was incredibly impressed by the amount of time and effort he had invested in researching engagement rings and design elements beforehand.
This allowed us to have some really in-depth conversations about the finer details of the design. While Jake had a strong understanding of the aesthetic he wanted to achieve, I was able to guide him through the more technical aspects of bespoke jewellery design, ensuring the finished piece would not only look beautiful but also be practical, durable, and comfortable to wear.
Jake's design incorporated an elongated marquise-cut diamond at its centre, accented with vibrant pops of colour through the inclusion of rubies, Chelsea's birthstone. Delicate floral details were woven into the metalwork, seamlessly bringing the design together and enhancing the ethereal, fantasy-inspired feel of the ring.
One element Jake was particularly set on was the use of talon claws to secure the central diamond, reminiscent of dragon claws and perfectly in keeping with the theme. This is something we are thrilled to be able to offer through the bespoke engagement ring process.
With bespoke jewellery design, every detail is carefully considered. From the choice of gemstones and setting style to the smallest design features, each element plays a role in creating a ring that is both meaningful and personal.
And the end result? Magical!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Jake to bring this bespoke engagement ring to life. To make things even more special, he carefully planned and orchestrated his proposal at the summit of Scafell Pike in the Lake District.
As it happens, I had personally completed the very same hike just a week before. I'd like to say I was scouting the location in preparation for the proposal, but I can't take quite that much credit!
Needless to say, the combination of a thoughtfully designed bespoke engagement ring and such an incredible proposal setting made for a truly unforgettable moment.
The beauty of choosing a bespoke engagement ring is that you can truly become your own designer. Most ideas are achievable, and where challenges arise, we'll always find a way to bring your vision to life.
Even if a classic solitaire engagement ring is your dream design, going bespoke allows us to tailor every detail to you. From the diamond shape and setting style to the depth and profile of the band, every element can be carefully considered to create a ring that is uniquely yours.
